How extensive the repair needed will vary but every garage door experiences some kind of wear and deterioration, whether it’s the panels or the hardware or springs. It also depends on the style of garage door you have. A manual garage door will be easier to repair than one that has a garage door opener.Metro Garage Door Repair

One thing is clear: there is only so much that will need repair as there are only so many kinds of garage doors so the final cost will not be but so bad. These door styles include the retractable door, the canopy, side hinged doors and sectional doors which covers most automatic doors. Unless you have a bard, you won’t see many side hinged doors so I won’t go into that. All there is to mention there is that if the door itself is damaged, meaning the wood, you will have to replace the whole door. Otherwise the hardware is self explanatory. Modern garage doors open overhead.

The first kind of overhead garage door repair would be for retractable doors. These lift up and slide back into the garage on an overhead track using springs that are counter balance. This aids in the opening and closing of the otherwise heavy door. The door generally opens straight out and is framed as a single paned door. Canopy doors are retractable doors that can overhang the driveway to provide basic shelter. The kind of repair for these doors usually requires simple hardware replacement.

Sectional doors have their ups and downs. One good thing is it is made up of panels, meaning if one area of the door gets damaged you can disassemble that particular part of the door and replace a single panel. Hardware replacement becomes a little more detailed as each panel has its own hinges and bolts.

The springs on all of these doors are high tension coils that can easily snap or spring off during repair and can result in death. It is highly advised to seek professional help for this kind of garage door repair.

Bread Making – History

The first version of bread was believed to be a mixture of water and grain that was roasted and ground. From this evolved flat breads of various kinds that became a staple in civilizations around the world. Examples being: the Mexican tortilla, the Johnny cake of North America, the Jewish matzo, the Middle Eastern pita and the Scottish oat knife

The earliest evidence of flour dates back 30,000 years ago. During the Neolithic Era (around 10,000 years ago) wheat and barley were domesticated and they became a staple food. This became significant in human history as the domestication of wheat and barley changed human existence from a hunting and gathering system into an agricultural system.

Leavened bread can probably be traced back to prehistoric times. Yeast spores occurred everywhere including the surface of grain and also on any dough that was left to rest before baking. The earliest evidence is from archeological finds of ancient Egypt where scanning was done by electron microscopy and yeast cells were found attached to ancient loaves of bread.

Leavening sources utilized in antiquity consisted of using a piece of the previous day’s bread dough. This method was similar to how today’s sour dough started. In the beer making civilizations, the foam was skimmed from the beer making process which produced lighter textured bread. Civilizations that made wine used a fermented paste composed of a grape must (grape wine and flour mixture). Another method was steeping wheat in grape wine and using it as a source of yeast.

There was a wide selection of antiquity breads available consisting of Greek barley bread, griddle cakes, honey and oil bread, mushroom shaped bread covered in poppy seeds.

In conclusion, the importance of bread in the formation of the human society was very significant. From the western half of Asia, where wheat was domesticated, civilization spread north and to the west, to Europe and to North America. This enabled humans to become farmers, no longer remaining hunters and gathers. This created the formation of towns and the decline of nomadic life styles.
